Job Title: Senior Planner (Planning Reform)
Job Grade / Classification: Planning Officer (Professional) Level 2
Location: Bridge Street, Sydney
Position status: This is a temporary appointment for a period up to 12 months under sections 27 or 86 of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002.
The Senior Planning Officer is a senior member of the team responsible for providing environmental planning and assessment policy advice.
The position holder will assist the Team Leader, Manager and Director in ensuring the Minister and Director General receive effective and efficient high level strategic planning and assessment policy advice.
The team assists the Director in reviewing planning, assessment or development matters, developing policy and drafting reports, guidelines and briefing material for one or more of the following areas: infrastructure and industry sectors, planning systems, planning reform, urban policy and natural resource management.
The Senior Planning Officers work in an environment that can be contentious and must be aware of the political sensitivities that may arise with their work. The position will play a key role in building relationships within the team and with a wide range of key internal and external stakeholders.
